Biography

Shortly after graduating from Mount Carmel High School, I enlisted in the U.S. Navy to serve in the Korean War.  I was assigned to the U.S.S. Missouri and almost immediately transferred to a fleet oil tanker that traveled all over the world refueling other ships and military bases.  After two years I was transferred to the U.S.S. Manchester, a cruiser, that was under fire from enemy shore batteries when I boarded the ship in Wonsan Harbor.

I am a current lifetime member of the Americn Legion (Past Commander, Post 55 and District 12 Executive committee), Forty and Eight, VFW, Korean War Veterans and Disabled American Veterans (Chaplain of Chapter 8 in Mesa).  Rated by the VA with a 100% service connected disability.

In 2009, I was selected by the Governor of Arizona to be one of the nineteen out of an estimated 650,000 eligible veterans, to be inducted to the Arizona Veterans Hall of Fame.  The highest honor granted a Veteran by the State of Arizona.

Currently a Eucharistic Minister for St. Andres Catholic Church in Chandler, Arizona.
